Environmental Health

Doing What’s Needed

Clean water, safe food, and a healthy place to live, work, and play are the focus of the Division of Environmental Health. The division inspects and licenses Food Service Operations, Retail Food Establishments, Household Sewage Treatment Systems, Private Water Systems, Public Swimming Pools, Campgrounds, and Tattoo and Body Piercing Establishments. In addition, the division investigates dog bites and public health nuisance complaints.

Septic Program

Inspections include Household Sewage Treatment System Site Evaluations, Point of Sale Inspections, and Operation and Maintenance Inspections. If you need an Operation and Maintenance Inspection please call the office or submit your request below in the Ask a Sanitarian inquiry.

Water Test (wells and springs must be developed)

Food Program

Applications for Food Service Operations (FSO), Temporary Events, and Mobile Licenses are available.

Non-Funded Programs

State mandated, non-funded programs inspected by ACHD staff include Animal Bite Investigations, Food Service Complaints, and Solid Waste, Housing, and Septic Nuisances.
